Personal Profile

Susan was born and raised in the Boston area and lived throughout the United States and Asia before returning to Boston in 1973 to raise her four children. Having graduated from Vassar College in 1969, where she focused on art and psychology courses, she earned a degree in interior design at Mt. Ida College upon her return to Boston. She established her firm, Susan Dearborn Interiors, Inc. in 1979. Susan Dearborn Interiors, Inc. works throughout New England and the southeastern United States. She is an Allied Member of ASID, a member of the National Historic Trust, and in the National Who's Who of Executives and Professionals. Susan Dearborn Interiors has been a member in good standing of the Better Business Bureau for twenty years.

She has appeared on the national television show Interior Motives. She hosted her own radio program called The Designing Woman. Her work has appeared in over twenty Show Houses and the published book Decorator Show Houses — Tour 250 Designer Rooms. Susan has also written extensively on design for many books and periodicals including The Boston Courant, the Beacon Hill Times, and The Boston Home Book.

Susan and her husband have recently moved from Boston back to the western suburbs with their four rescue dogs. Outside the office Susan spends as much time as she can with her six grandchildren. She reads extensively about design-related subjects and supports the MSPCA and The Boys and Girls Club. Susan loves to cook and to entertain family and friends. She enjoys golf, tennis, biking, and skiing.
