Your Design Project

Susan will schedule an initial consultation in your home to introduce herself and to answer any questions you may have. A mutual feeling of respect and communication needs to be established so clients can relax and enjoy the design process. During this meeting, your design needs will be discussed and fees, budget and our Letter of Agreement will be addressed.

If you are building or remodeling, Susan's expertise will help you avoid costly and time-consuming mistakes. Your designer, builder, and architect form three angles of a triangle with your designer presenting and leading you through exterior and interior decisions including moldings, door styles, kitchen and bath selections, lighting, and floor material. With the ability to see these dimensionally, you can be assured that the decisions you make will result in the finished product that you envisioned.

While your building or renovation project continues, we will simultaneously begin the design and décor (interior) phase. Master planning is essential to avoid costly mistakes and ensure a harmonious aesthetic feeling throughout the interior of your residence whether it is 2,000 or 10,000 square feet. The goal of a well-managed project is to have furnishings and interior elements ready for delivery when your renovation or building project is complete.

After reviewing magazine selections you have chosen, Susan will formulate room plans and begin product selection. Understanding your lifestyle, the negative and positive aspects of your home, and your design preferences enables her to help you develop your individual design style. Susan's knowledge of design-related materials allows you to understand the myriad of choices available in order to make intelligent decisions.
